My faith is not simply a part of my life; it is my life (Colossians 3:3). So I’ve recently felt the desire to communicate more clearly who I am to those who know me through my Lightsaber hobby/art/business. Whatever reputation I’m developing; I want to be known for what is most important.
I am a follower of Jesus Christ. Beneath all the misrepresentations and hypocrisy of man-made religion, I am part of an ancient order of those who name Jesus of Nazareth as Savior and Lord. I believe the Bible we have today is an accurate translation of original Holy Scripture, and therefore holds authority, truth, and beauty (I prefer the New Living Translation). I believe the Apostles Creed (Google it).
I’m not perfect. But I have been given an incredible gift by Jesus, through his sacrifice on the cross. The gift is that (beyond all reason) I am now perfect in God’s eyes. I could never have earned this gift, but my life is now defined by it. As a result of this great gift I choose to devote my life to God first, to follow him in complete obedience.
Most recently I am coming to know God the Father and Creator as the masterful artist He is. His work inspires me to be the best artist I can be. I’m discovering how art and inspiration have a place in my personal life calling. I create art with intent and design, just as I was created with intent and design.
If you find any of this interesting I can recommend a few books.
Number one is the Bible; there is no substitute for this document that has somehow survived repeated attempts at its destruction over the ages.
If you feel like your Christianity has been a failed experiment;
If you wonder what real life faith has in common with our passion for Star Wars
